OLD SOUTH AFRICAN SHIPS

Identifying the two ships on this page Mr.Jesper Brix wrote :

" ... This ship ( above ) did have two sister ships, " S. A. Nederburg " and " S. A. Weltevreden ". However, from what is visible of the name, the ship in your photo must be " S. A. van der Stel ". http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=388761 She was built in 1966 for South African Marine Corp. ( Safmarine ) and lenghtened in 1979. "


" The South African ship, in the lower photo, leaving the port of Beira, Mozambique , in 1967, is one of two sister ships. Either " S. A. Huguenot " or " S. A. Alphen ", both of Safmarine and built in 1966. They were both lengthened in 1974. "
