M/V Erdemir sailing southbound in the Bosphorus, off Ortakoy 1974. Built in 1972 by Astelleros Espanoles, Bilbao, Spain. Grt/Net/Dwt :15.699/10.203/26.838 L/B/D : 182,9/22,4/10,6 m. Engine: Man diesel made by Ast. Espanoles, 9800 hp. Speed : 15 knots, single screw. Sold to private sector in 1993, renamed " ATANUR". 1997 "ALNUR". According to Miramar S.I : Broken-up at Alang 20.7.97. Sister ship : M/V Erzurum / TCEX Erdemir seen with Preveze anchored in the foreground. The above picture was taken instantaneously from a running car without having the time to make any adjustments. Luckly focus was on infinity, but aperture and shutter speed were way off. Looking at the negative, the lab had not even bother printing in those days. Thanks to the miracles of digital age this much
could be saved from Erdemir some thirty years later. Bosphorus, circa 1975.
