Istanbul Strait, 1975. Built in 1970 at Trogir Bradogradiliste Jozo Lozovina Mosor shipyards, Yugoslavia. Grt/Net/Dwt : 8.750/5.213/13.035 L/B/D : 154.2/19.8/9.3 m. Engine: Sulzer Diesel, 9600 hp. Speed : 18 knots, single screw. She was hard aground at Florida costs during hurricane Gordon in November 1994. Sold to private sector Feb. 1995. Broken up at Alang 27.6.97. Sister ships : Aras Dicle Gediz Keban Meric  M/V Firat ( Euphrates ), M/V Dicle ( Tigris ) and four other sisters, all named after rivers were ordered to Yugoslavian ship builders in late 1960s to renew the ageing fleet of DB Cargo Lines.

Altincan will sail from Iskenderun to the same destination. M/V Amiral S. Okan and M/V Aras, identical sisters of Firat and Altincan seen at Istanbul some twenty years later in 1994.
