By the end of 1960's to renew the ageing fleet new ships were ordered to Poland, to former Yugoslavia and to Turkish shipyards. Four sister ships built in Poland were named after four esteemed generals of Turkish armed forces. The B442 class of Gdansk was hence gotten to be known as "Generals" class in Turkey. The four sisters replaced the old victory ships * sailing in U.S. - line in early 1970's and worked hard until their retirement in 2000's. In their first twenty years, they were regular callers of Eastern U.S and seldom visitors of continental Europe. After 1990's following the development of trades with Far East, they also sailed in those more distant seas inspite of their old age.
